One thing that we really enjoy about living in Pennsylvania is the wildlife. Growing up in Anaheim, Januck didn't really see a variety of birds. Mostly sparrows, morning doves, and seagulls that would swarm the lunch area in junior high and high school. Here are a few things we've seen since we've been here.

This was at our bird feeder the other day. We mostly get smaller birds, but once in awhile the bigger birds try to stop and get a snack. We believe this one is a Northern Cardinal.

This one is some sort of Jay. The bigger birds have a hard time sitting on the bird feeder to get food.

I love this guy. He squawked an awful lot, but I thought it was cool. The placed houseparent told me to take him with us because he was driving her nuts!

At Hershey Gardens, they have a butterfly atrium and it is so cool! Butterflies are flying around everywhere. As you leave, you go into a separate room to check to see if you have any butterflies clinging onto you.

Another beautiful and cool butterfly.

This one was outside of one of the student homes that we were shadowing in.

I will never, ever, get tired of seeing fireflies during the summertime!

Not exactly sure what it is, but this guy was in the bathroom near the toilet. It was thrashing around and I was wondering why it wasn't moving. I realized that it was caught in a spider web. I was waiting for the giant spider to come out and get it. And then it emerged...a tiny spider (it's blurry up to the left of this...thing) came out and I thought, "Well, he's got a few weeks of food here." The angle of the picture makes the spider look big, but it was only about 2 mm long.

Reminds us of Japan! We used to see the cicada wings everywhere.

Nothing like some beautiful clouds at the end of the day!
