Well, it's been awhile since we last posted and it's mainly due to being so busy. We are now in our full rotation and it's been awesome...with a few bumps in the road. It is taking us awhile to get used to sleeping in one house for three days, moving to another house for three days, and finally moving to another house before returning to our apartment for our three days off.

At the student homes, the students are to address the Houseparents as Mr. and Mrs., so Polikaitis is a bit difficult for some of them to get used to saying. Some just call us "Mister" or "Misses" but it is too impersonal for us so we've asked them to call us Mr. and Mrs. Po. When Januck was teaching Middle School a few years ago, he had a student ask if he could call him Mr. Po and he said yes, and it stuck and other students started calling him that. We decided that we would make that our Middle School name.

When we were teaching, our goal was to get 10,000 steps per day. We'd come close sometimes and once in awhile we would reach it. We'd usually reach 7,000 or 8,000 steps and wonder how we didn't get more since we were teaching and walking around all day. Well, it's now a rarity when we get below 10,000 steps (apart from when we are off and lounging around the apartment) and we now usually get between 12,000 and 14,000 steps just by going through our daily routine.

We just found out that we will be moving again to be up in the middle division campus. Since moving here, we have been living on the main campus which houses the elementary division and the senior division. It is about a 20 minute drive from our apartment to the houses we are covering so when we covering our houses, we lose about an hour a day due commuting. When we drop off the students at school for the day, we usually go back home, take a nap, go to Giant supermarket to get a salad, take showers and then go back to a Student home. Joanna found a great Hungarian Massage place that does hot stone and oil massages. She wants to try the Salt room next. It will be nice to be on the Middle School Campus so we can be closer to the homes we work in.

So, we bought a one cup Kerig coffee machine and have been having 2 cups a day to stay awake when we rise with students at 5:30 a.m. and go to sleep by 10:00 p.m. We have found a Peets Dark Roast that we like! Hoping that as time goes by, we won't increase to 3-4 cups a day!

Till next time....
