The Bird Feeder, Mother's Day, and Food!

One of the things we really appreciate about the Student Homes here is that most of them have a bird feeder. We've become fascinated by the birds that come to the feeder. Well, we decided that it was time for us to get one for outside of our apartment window.

This was our first attempt. Unfortunately, it didn't go so well. It was unbalanced and when we went outside, it was tipped sideways and all of the bird feed was on the ground.

Round two! We went to Lowe's and found this stand which looked sturdy. We then bought the house, the cage with a block of food, and a hummingbird feeder. We finally got birds but no hummingbirds. We also learned a lesson when we came out the next day and the cage was on the ground with the block of food gone and the house was propped open with bird feed all over the ground again. Argh!! Possibly squirrels? Not sure but now we bring the house and cage in at night.

Food! One of our new favorite breakfast places called The Filling Station. Great food at good prices. The sourdough toast is so soft and delicious.
